My brother Pete reports a loggerhead shrike seen and photographed this
morning in Adams County, long a warm spot for the plummeting Ohio
population of this bird. Because there is a chance of breeding, the
location is sensitive and will remain undisclosed for now. Examination
of the bands on its legs reveals it may belong to the Ontario study
population, and Canadian authorities have been notified.
The bird was photographed eating a fence lizard.
