I spent a couple of dreary afternoon hours at Big Island this afternoon.
The birding was ok though...plenty of ducks at most stops.

The best birds were all in the middle impoundment north of LaRue-Prospect
Road: there I had 18 HORNED GREBES and a female SURF SCOTER hanging out with
the numerous Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked Ducks, and Redhead.

I also had about 8 Tree Swallows cruising around.
