our biggest migration of eastern meadowlarks that i can recall took place this morning. at least 75 birds passed by the east beach/breakwall area. good numbers of red-breasted mergansers remain on the lake and bonaparte's gulls have returned in triple digit numbers. new this morning for 2007 were tree swallow and savannah sparrow, new for the spring was a flyover common loon.
