Tansky's Marsh is located on the Wayne National Forest on the east side of
State Route 93 several miles south of New Straitsville - at the intersection
of 93 and Payne Road. This is an excellent spot for those with physical
disabilities because you can see everything from your car. It is right
around the corner from where I live and is one of my favorite birding spots.
Every time I go, I see something new for me (I'm kind of a rookie, but I
have lots of help). Here's what I have seen the last 2 Sundays:

3-18-07:

Canada Geese - 20+
Red-Winged Blackbirds - 2
Wood Ducks - 3
Belted Kingfishers (1 with fish in mouth) - 2
Hooded Mergansers - 5
Eastern Phoebe - 2

3-25-07:

Canada Geese - 20+
Red-Winged Blackbirds - 4
Pileated Woodpecker - 1
Bluebird - 1
Pied-Billed Grebes - 3
Hooded Mergansers - 2
Green-Winged Teals - 2
