This evening we observed four Snipe along the edge of Grand Lake St Marys!!
As well as MANY, MANY Double Crested Cormorants!
Several hundred American Coot have stuck around and probably will for the
summer.
Of course, our resident Canada Geese are nesting. As we drove through the St
Marys Fish Hatchery (Auglaize County) we were "attacked" by a fierce gander
protecting his Lady who just happens to be incubating five eggs!! He pecked
at our vehicle several times! Then strutted as he caused us to drive on by!
The Bald Eagles have hatched at the Wildlife Area and the second GLSM nest
is still incubating.
The Redwing Black birds are singing for mates. Several Meadow Larks are also
trying to attract ladies.

Don't you just LOVE this time of year!!!
