I just returned from a rather good morning of birding at Spring Valley Wildlife Area & Caesar Creek
SP (Delorme p 65 D7).

Spring Valley is still ice-covered. My sightings included:

Canada Goose
Northern Cardinal
Carolina Chickadee
Blue Jay
American Robin
American Tree Sparrow (2)
White-throated sparrow
American goldfinch
Red-bellied woodpecker
Song sparrow
Mute Swan (4)
Hairy woodpecker
Mallard
Red-winged blackbird
Coot
American crow
Red-tailed hawk
Mourning dove

My trip to Caesars Creek was really just a quick peek to take a look at ice conditions. There is
some shoreline thaw extending up to 50 feet near the swimming beach. I saw:

Canada goose
Mallard
Song sparrow
Ring-billed gull
Mourning dove
American crow
Coots
Killdeer (1)
Kestrel
Turkey vulture
