I saw a large flock of American Robins at my home in Anderson Township today, which I believe were different from all the wintering robins we've had this winter. Also, had about 23 Common Grackles and eight Red-winged Blackbirds.

Lots of singing last month and so far in March by Carolina Wrens, House Finches, and Mourning Doves (saw a pair mating last week, and one bird carrying nest material on Friday on the UC Clifton campus).

At my study sites in the WV coalfields, American Woodcocks and Eastern Phoebes have started to arrive. The first woodcock was heard on 2/26, and the first phoebe today.
