I have been noticing Cardinals in my yard (central Ohio) with severe cases of conjunctivitis. Sunday (3-4) I saw a female with no feathers on her wrinkly and scaley gray head. I have been seeing this for about 3 years now. I seemed to start up when conjunctivitis in house finches was winding down. I try to keep my feeders clean and am wondering how they are becoming infected.

Also, I still have Juncos in my yard. They haven't started migrating back north along with the other early birds I and others have seen lately.

An off topic question for those who keep bird lists and counts. Do you count birds you see at bird rescue places?
