Went out to Pickerington Ponds (Columbus Metropark, SE Columbus. The day
was bright and windy. Saw 3 Kestrels hovering. There was still ice on
the majority of the ponds. There was some open water which had hunkered
down Canadas, Coots, lessor scalp, redheads and mallards.

Did not see any GB herons in the nesting area but there may have been a
Redtail in one of the heron nests. I did not have my spotting scope with
me so I could not be sure. I guess we will have to wait a few mre days for
the ice to melt. Cheers, Phillip
