Good Morning:
Have been able to spend some quality time with my binocs the past 2 days and have been pleased to see a couple of migrants working their way north. We had 4-6 golden crowned kinglets bouncing the branches of our trees in search of insects. They spent over an hour outside our kitchen window. Also have found 2 yellow-bellied sapsuckers, insect hunting, but I am also watching a large knot in the tree in the back, they may be preparing it for a nest. Also seen at our feeders:
Red-wing blackbirds
Grackles
Field Sparrows
Juncos
Blue Jay
Cowbird
Chipping Sparrow
Thrush (in and gone before we could properly ID)
Goldfinch (One male beginning to show bright colors)
Carolina Wren
Robins
House Sparrows
Chicadee
Titmouse
We have one more day off, hoping the rain will wait until we have the time to sit out and watch the travelers come through. this is the first time in a long time we have been "bums" and able to watch some spring movement.....I could get used to this!
Enjoy the birding wherever you are!
