Birded around Fredricktown area today. There are two small wetland areas
off Route 13, one to the right and one to the left of Waterford Rd. The
one on the right contained
Greater Yellowlegs-4
Mallard
Canada Goose
Pied-billed Grebe
N. Shoveler
Blue-winged Teal
Ring-necked Ducks
The small wetland on the left by a farm contained a single GW teal and
pair of mallards
Kokosing Wildlife Area
Lake- Canada Geese (6 with white neck collars)
Red-breasted Merganser-6
Gadwall-40
Osprey-1
Bald Eagle- 1 adult
Bufflehead-2
Ruddy Duck-6
Lesser Scaup-2
Woods and Fields to the West
Field Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
Fox Sparrow- 1
Song Sparrow
Wood Duck- 3 pairs all 30 feet up in trees
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- 1 adult male
Not the greatest bird activity day, the sparrows were moving nicely but
wasn't near the terrestrial species I was hoping to see.
