Spotted on the north lake at Roxanna New Burlington Rd.around noon Saturday there was a group of 30+ cormorants sitting along the shore on one of the islands. In and around the lake were a pair of grebes, great blue heron, ring billed gulls, canada geese.

  Spotted on the south lake were  a pair of loons, swallows and canada geese.

  Earlier in the day during a walk held at Spring Valley Wildlife Area by Dayton Audubon Society highlights were virginia rails and an American bittern along the boardwalk. Spotted around the the lake and bike path areas were black and turkey vultures, osprey, rough winged swallows, yellow rump warbler, blue gray gnatcatchers, brown creeper and rusty blackbirds.
