While birding today @ Shawnee Prairie Preserve (part of Darke Co.
Parks), I stumbled upon my first Hermit Thrush of the year! Not huge,
but i was excited! This is the list from 3:45pm-4:45pm today (april
18th)...sorry for the late post.
Anyways, here is the full list...
Canada Goose - all over the 'beaver' ponds
Wood Duck-a couple pairs
Mallards
Blue-winged Teal - one fly-by
Cooper's Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Eastern Phoebe- 2 pair...both working on nests.
Blue Jay
American Crow
Barn Swallow - actually, saw this on my drive home from
greenville...on st.rt. 49
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Carolina Wren
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Hermit Thrush - 1st of the year (for me at least!)
American Robin
European Starling
Chipping Sparrow
Field Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Dark-eyed Junco
Northern Cardinal
Red-winged Blackbird
Common Grackle
Brown-headed Cowbird
American Goldfinch
