This AM there was one Caspian Tern and about 13 Ring-bills on the Caesar Creek beach. Not as exciting as the ten Caspians we had at Cowan but even one of these
incredible birds is a treat. Bob Powell posted a picture of five of the Cowan birds on his blog which you can find at [log in to unmask]

After CC I went to Cowan and finally found one of Cowan's Yellow-throated Warblers singing in the pines on the Big Hill picnic area. Another high for the day.

After returning my wife told of a Eurasian Collared Dove which appeared briefly in our yard. We had one some years ago but the Bird Committee would not accept it. If it returns I hope to get a picture. Meanwhile those of you in the Wilmington area should check the Mourning Doves in your yard for a large Dove with a black collar.

Happy Birder Cheers, Larry Gara
