I was at Veterans Park this morning on Hopkins Rd. I will not post the usual stuff being seen there (you know Eared Grebes, ducks and stuff) Just a few birds I saw I thought were interesting:

  Northern Parula 1 (male)
  Savannah Sparrows 2
  both Kinglets and Yellow-rumped Warblers

I identified a bird that was about 80 feet away high in a tree after Jeanne Hrenko noticed movement. I looked where she was looking and saw white and yellow flash. I figured it was a warbler - I got a very clear and focused 3-second look and then I tried to take a picture and couldn't refind it. And yes Emil it did sing but not when I was looking at it. It had that winding buzzy sound. There were many Ruby-crowned Kinglets nearby in trees at the time.

Mentor Lagoons was thick with Hermit Thrush, many Yellow-rumped Warblers, some both Kinglets, Coopers Hawks, Sapsuckers, Merlin, Bufflehead 20 (seen on lake on western-most trail running north of Woods Trail).
