The birdtrail was painstaking slow today, though it
seemed every tree held a Yellow-rumped Warbler. My
best bird was probably an early GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH.
I birded at Metzger before and after Magee, and as far
as I know, there were no repeats of any of the
shorebirds from yesterday. The ibises did show up
some time in between, and then flew off in the
direction of Mallard Club and points west. I believe
I only had 7 sp. of warbler between the two locations
and as far as I know, I only missed one
(Prothonotary). My last stop was the under-birded
Pipe Creek WA. Nothing spectacular to report - there
won't be any shorebirds here anytime soon, unless ODNR
does something drastic - but there were a lot of
waterfowl about - including 27 shovelers and 30
gadwall. A Sora was also calling. I also had a
CATTLE EGRET on SR 2 just east of Magee.

Good birding -
Gabe Leidy
