my wife lauri and I took a stroll through Poland forest in Mahoning county.
We were not too diligent, mostly just enjoying the beautiful day and masses
of Virginia bluebells, trillium, and marsh marigolds to name a few. We did
see hairy and downy woodpeckers, hermit thrush, e. towhee, yelllow rumped
warbler,(I had hoped for more but that's all the warblers we saw) rs and rt
hawks, wood and mallard ducks. But the main reason I'm posting is to
announce the arrival of our feeder rose-breasted grosbeak. Last year he
arrived on the 30th and in 2005 May 1st. Of course I can't be sure this is
the same bird but I choose to think it is or a descendent. Fantastic to
think this bird would leave the tropics and have my home as his
destination.
