At Highbanks yesterday, I saw and/or heard the following recent arrivals who seasonally reside in the park:

Baltimore Oriole-great views of male singing in the Big Meadows parking area nearest the Olentangy River
Orchard Oriole-pair in vicinity of the Baltimore Oriole
Northern Parula-2 singing in same area
Acadian Flycatcher-in wooded area next to back loop of pet trail
Scarlet Tanager-heard 1 singing behind the raptor rehab building at the beginning of the pet trail
Summer Tanager-great view of male singing in Oak Coves parking area near a trailhead to the Dripping Rock trail
Common Yellowthroat-saw 1 heard 2 more in back pet loop
Yellow Warbler-heard/saw 1 near pond by back pet loop
Hooded Warbler-saw 1 in front pet loop on Saturday, heard one yesterday singing in vicinity of Overlook/Dripping Rock trail junction
Wood Thrush-saw 1 with a Hermit Thrush in the front area of the pet trail, towards evening heard 7 singing along the Dripping Rock trail

Other non-resident (to Highbanks) warblers observed since last week (including yesterday) include several Nashville, Palm, and Yellow-Rumped Warblers; a few Black-throated Green Warblers; and one Blue-Winged Warbler (1 at wetlands last week, 1 along pet trail yesterday)

Highbanks is in southern Delaware County and directions can be found at www.metroparks.net.
