I was out of town over the weekend but received an interesting report today.  An
avid bass fisherman related to me that a pair of bald eagles nested on one of
the islands at Wingfoot Lake in southwest Portage County.  I'm told that the
chicks hatched and then the birds "left."  Whether they abandoned the nest or
are just harder to find I do not know.
