This Saturday May 5th John Habig, Ben Warner and myself will embark on a May
Big Day. If anyone is interested in coming along, please email me. We'll
start in Columbus and end in Columbus, eventually. The crew that just did
an April Big Day had 156 species, along with some amazing birds for Ohio.
The weather looks great and what a great way to experience our state and
it's birds. The more eyes, the better.

This past weekend, I had 54 yard species on and around this farm in Morgan
County (DeLorme 70 D2). Yellow-rumped as well as Black-throated Green
warblers were abundant, not to mention Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. Four vireo
sp. and 13 warbler sp., plus RB Grosbeaks, Bal. Orioles, GC Flycatcher,
House Wren and 5 Broad-winged Hawks. White-throated Sparrows were also
abundant and singing. I have a mature pond with Willow trees that hang over
the pond. Nearby is field, edge and forest habitat and the birding is
wonderful.
