Saw two vocalizing yellow-bellied sapsuckers at Harrison State Forest. At
Tappan Lake there are two pairs of ospreys on nests. As I was watching one
osprey it picked a fairly large tree branch from the top of a tree and flew
off to its nest with it. This nest is being built on the large power lines
crossing the lake. The old one either got blown off or was taken off. The
other pair was on the pole built for them. After that I saw a single adult
bald eagle soaring high over the lake.
