Subtitle this the Power of May. This is THE month for Spring migration, especially this year. I took a bit of time on May Day to hit two very urban parks near Alum Creek in the middle of Columbus. The first was Fairwood Park, which is in a rather run-down section of south Columbus but has a wonderful patch of old oaks. The other site was Jeffrey Park in the enclosed suburb of Bexley, which is nicely forested but still rather isolated. Both had many migrants, despite the nice weather; highlights included:

Raptors - resident Coopers Hawks were patrolling both sites, checking out the 'migrant buffet'

Flycatchers - several Great Cresteds at both sites (this is the start of their arrival). Acadians were also at both sites (they nest at Jeffrey).

Vireos - Red-eyed at both sites; Blue-headed at Fairwood, Warbling singing at Jeffrey

Kinglets - still plenty of Ruby-crowns moving through at both sites; no Golden-crowns even in the pine grove at Jeffrey (a very reliable spot for late conifer-loving birds).

Thrushes - 5-6 Hermits lurking in the forest at Jeffrey, along with a Swainson's & Veery. Fairwood has little underbrush to hide them.

Mimids - all 3 regular species were singing at Fairwood, including a very obliging Brown Thrasher

Warblers - plenty including many Yellow-rumps & Nashvilles at both sites, plus Yellow-throated (Jeffrey), Black&White (Jeffrey), Black-thr.Green (3 at Fairwood, 2 at Jeffrey), Pine (Jeffrey), Parula (Fairwood), Yellow (both), Ovenbird (Fairwood)

Grosbeaks,Buntings - Rose-br.Grosbeaks singing at both sites; 3-4 Indigo Buntings at Fairwood

Sparrows - small flocks of White-throats at both sites, along with singing Chippings. A LINCOLN'S was lurking in a scrubby edge at Fairwood.

Icterids - Baltimore Orioles were singing at both sites

Neither of these parks is large or particularly exceptional, and I spent about a half hour at each. So it doesn't really matter where you go over these next 2-3 weeks, just be sure to get out often. With migration delayed this year, May should be fantastic.
