Last night I arrived at the beach at Caesar Creek State Park between 6:30
and 7:00 pm. the Willet reported by Larry Gara on Monday morning was
still present. Also present until I left at about 7:30 - 7:45 pm were one
Black-bellied Plover (breeding plumage), 3 Least Sandpipers, and one
Dunlin close to but not in complete breeding plumage. This is a good
assortment of shorebirds given the limited habitat available right now for
migrating shorebirds here in southwest Ohio.

I arrived at Voice of American Park on Tylersville and Cox Roads at about
8:00 - 8:15 pm west of Mason and just off I75. There were many Bobolinks
present, about 15 or so, one Savannah Sparrow, and one or two signing
Henslow's Sparrows. The bird activity was in spite of two ultra light
flying machines that were making unbelievably loud noise and were buzzing
the best Henslow's and Bobolink breeding area, the high meadow. I met
John Dunn, the well known ornithologist and Wings Field Leader and former
resident of Ohio there. He was scouting in advance of an Ohio trip that
he is leading right now.
