Finding Rails can be tough sometimes. But not tonight. The Goldie Gunlock Wetland can be very good at times. It sets in a pit that was made when they built Wal-mart (to get it out of the flood plain). Max&Erma's overlooks this wetland. So around 7:00pm, to my surprise, right below Max&Erma's outside eating area(with people there) was a Sora feeding along the bank in the wide open... within 100ft. of the food they serve! He was in the small pool right below M&E (West side). I think this small pool of water acts like a holding area, than helps filter the water before it makes it's way to the wetland.

Safe date for this one is 5/20(Breeding Bird Atlas). And I'll be watching close.
