Just a quick report from the last day in April. I was out all day in our local area, from Mohican State Park to Killbuck Wildlife Area and down into Holmes County.

21 species of warblers, most of which are breeding birds in this area. Best bird was a 7:45 pm Blue Grosbeak east of Berlin in Holmes County. I will post more on this bird if it is re-located today.

Other birds included a Common Loon at Pleasant Hill Lake, along with 25 female Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 Bufflehead, 2 Ruddy Ducks. At Killbuck W.A. there were Dunlins, yellowlegs, Least Sandpipers, Semi-palm Plover, etc.

Golden-crowned Kinglets at their suspected nesting site in Mohican, along with all the Mohican specialties except Veery, which did not seem to be back on territories yet, and Canada Warbler. Interestingly I had a singing Canada there last week below the gorge.

Total species for the day - 127
