Migrants continue to trickle through Columbus. Cool N winds the past couple of days haven't brought in much, but what is here is mostly feeding fairly low in the dense brush along the Scioto River. I have only been able to take short mid-day walks along my local stretch of the Scioto and here's a summary from today and yesterday -

Flycatchers - aside from what are probably resident Great Cresteds, E Wood-Pewees, and E Phoebes, single Leasts were seen both today and yesterday.

Swallows and Swifts - N Rough-winged Swallows and Chimney Swifts are present in the dozens over the Scioto. Feeding over the Hidden Lake quarry pond there were ~180 swallows yesterday. The flock consisted of only 3 Tree and 2 Barn Swallows. The rest were pretty much evenly split between Cliffs, Banks, and N Rough-wingeds. Today the same 5 species are present, but numbers are lower with a total of ~75 swallows present in the same ratios.

Vireos - In addition to 2 well established pairs of Warbling Vireos here, 6 Red-eyed Vireos were singing both today and yesterday from the same locations. It's still too early to tell which of them are migrants and which are here to stay.

Thrushes, etc. - Migrants seen were limited to 2 Swainson's Thrushes both today and yesterday. A Wood Thrush has been well established for a few weeks now well at the same location some nested last year. Gray Catbirds are everywhere.

Chickadees, Wrens - One of the several pairs of Carolina Wrens here was seen shepherding around 3 fledglings today. Carolina Chickadees were seen carrying food to a nest today. With water levels of the Scioto fairly low this year, House Wrens are more numerous than is typical for this date.

Gosbeaks and Buntings - a male R-b Grosbeak and a female Indigo Bunting were here today.

Sparrows - Just resident Song and Chipping Sparrows remain. I haven't seen a White-throated for a few days now.

Warblers - Widely scattered with decent diversity, including some singing males of some species that are usually long gone by this date.
Tennessee - 2 loud singing males today
N Parula - a female present in the same location today and yesterday
Chestnut-sided - 3 males today
Magnolia - 2 males today
Black-throated Blue - 2 females today
Yellow-rumped - 6 today (incl. 2 singing males), 5 yesterday
Black-thr Green - 1 singing male yesterday
Blackburnian - 1 singing male today
Yellow-throated - 3 pairs on this property are now hard to detect. The males only sing briefly early in the mornings
Bay-breasted - 1 m, 1 f today
Blackpoll - 4 males yesterday, 1 male today
Black&white - a female present in the same location today and yesterday
Am Redstart - 3 today (1 ad m, 1 fy m, 1 f), 1 yesterday (fy m)
Ovenbird - 1 singing male
Mourning - 1 male today and yesterday in same location
