This PM I found a lone White-rumped Sandpiper on the Cowan Lake spillway. I had little luck reaching others to confirm it but Jim Hickman went out only to find that the bird had either gone or moved to the other Cowan mudflat at the end of Lotus Trail.

There I saw:

9 Least Sandpipers
4 Semipalmated Plovers
2 Semipalmated Sandpipers
4 Spotted Sandpipers
2 Pectoral Sandpipers - with more birds hidden on the other side of the mudflat
1 Blue-winged Teal
3 Great Blue Heron
1 Female Wood Duck with 8 young

And along the trail - on territory

3 American Redstart
3 Red-eyed Vireo
1 Prothonotary Warbler

Hot Weather Cheers, Larry Gara
