Seems to be a banner year for Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks at feeders. I can't
top Glen Crippen's totals in Morgan Co., but I have 4 males and 2 females
currently. One male is an immature that is more brown than black with broken
white lines on his head. I'm still waiting for a Blue Grosbeak to join
them(have never seen one in Meigs Co.)! I have never had RB Grosbeaks at my
feeders before so this is a real treat. They sing constantly in the trees
while they're not at the feeders. I still have 2 White-Throated Sparrows
hanging around.

Yesterday (May 2), I had my first Eastern Kingbird and Indigo Bunting. Also
great looks at Black-Throated Blue Warbler and Magnolia Warbler as well as
Baltimore Oriole. There are Blue-Winged, Prairie, Hooded, and Kentucky
Warblers on territory as well as Ovenbird, Yellowthroat and Yellow-Breasted
Chat. Summer Tanagers have just arrived. Scarlet Tanagers have been around
for the past week. Red-Eyed, White-Eyed, and Yellow-Throated Vireos also
setting up house.

Today (May 3,) there was a singing White-Crowned Sparrow on the Ohio
University campus near the Convocation Center and a Yellow Warbler next to
Irvine Hall.
