Greetings,
Birding from the deck on Gore Orphanage Road, Wakeman has been
terrific this morning. Our first (male) RT Hummingbird appeared at
the feeder. Later, a male Baltimore Oriole was tipping the same
feeder. It remained for the rest of the morning until the sun came to
that area. Elsewhere on the property, the green heron was back at the
pond, white throats and gold finches continued to dominate the
feeders. A wren can be heard but not seen near the woods. The bulk
feeder and suet has attracted red bellied, downy and hairy
woodpeckers this morning while a cat bird is checking out the wild
rose bushes . Yellow warblers are rummaging through the brush along
the creek.
