Hi Folks -

Took a quick spin around West Creek Reservation in Parma this morning, from
10-11:30 a.m. Not much in the way of warbler activity, but it was good to
see resident Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Scarlet Tanager, Baltimore Orioles
(among others) back on territory. Yellow Warblers were singing like mad. A
single Wood Thrush was heard on the eastern portion of the property.

A single Eastern Kingbird and single Ruby-throated Hummingbird were recent
returns.

It appears that a pair of Swamp Sparrows might be taking up summer residence
around the wetlands.

It was exciting to see no less than 6 Spotted Sandpipers in and around the
wetlands, near the tv towers, and 'skyponds' on the landfill. Usually we
have only 1 breeding pair...but....it looks like we may have more this year.
It was incredibly odd to see these Spotties perching on telephone pole wires
and a shed by the towers. It is definitely a species that "bops" around.
