This weekend, we had some unexpected birds at our feeders (well...UNDER
our feeders). There, among the usual chipmunks, squirrels, Blue Jays, and
sparrows were a pair of Mallard Ducks! I'm not sure where they came
from...we dont have any ponds very near by and they were not any of our
neighbor's pets. They stayed the weekend...eating bird seed and "bathing"
in our ditch. I saw the male this morning...he flew away after being
harassed by a couple Crows.
It's been fun watching them! Definitely not something we expected to see
at our feeders!!
