Highlights from a morning at several Cuyahoga Valley NP sites:
Old Colosseum site, walked just the eastern half:
Savannah Sparrows - many
Henslow's Sparrow - one "singer" seen
Grasshopper Sparrow - one heard
Eastern Meadowlark - at least 20
Bobolink - at least 30; much agitation I interpret as you're-near-my-nest anxiety
Ledges area:
Red-breasted Nuthatch heard
Eastern Phoebe at nest with young under eave
Oak Hill area:
Blue-winged Warbler - adult with mostly-feathered youngster
Hooded Warbler
Horseshoe Pond area:
House Wren - apparent family of 3-4
Blue-winged Warbler - adult with mostly-feathered youngster (yep, another one)
Cheers,
Craig Caldwell, Westlake
