Greetings,
I was at the Brass Ring Golf Course in Hocking County
           from about 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. today(Thursday, June 28). I
was at the location on Keller Road from which the bird has usually been
seen. About noon a Mississippi kite flew out from the golf course and
over Keller Road as it began to soar upward in circles. At times it was
directly overhead. Then, as it flew higher it was over the area between
Keller Road and Route 33 and then over Route 33. One time it dropped
downward head first then began soaring higher again. At times it was
harassed by a small bird. Then it began to fly lower and back toward the
golf course, finally being out of sight behind some trees. I saw it for
at least ten minutes and got good looks at all the field marks. After
that I went to the snack bar at the golf headquarters building. There you
can cool off and get something to eat and drink. The people there are
very friendly and are getting used to birders dropping in.
Sincerely,
Jim Fry
