The flock of Egrets has waxed an waned in size over the last 2 1/2 weeks.
There have been a high number of 17 and low of 4 at about 1 PM each day.
They are accompanied by a small number of GB Herone 2 -5 / day. The
wetland has slowly decreased in size but should be bigger tommorow. A
number of large carp that were apparently marooned in the shallow water
have died so a number of turkey vultures have come to feast with 3-5 on
the ground frequently. No shorebirds other than Kildeer have been seen.

There is however one interesting Gull. This is a large pale bird that I
have observed from afar for the last 5 days. The bird appears to be an
immature Glaucous gull. Large, pale with some mottling on the wings but
pale wing tips( no hint of black at all. The tip of the bill appears
black. I finally flushed it today to get a better look at the wings and
again it has no black on the wingtips. So, I need help cause it is a
long way from "home" for a Glaucous gull this time of yr. The temporary
wetland is South of the Lowes Parking lot at the Junction of I270 and S.
High St ( US 23) on the south side of Columbus. The Lowes is at the
Northwest corner of the intersection of those 2 roads. I'll check again
tomorrow and post if it is still there. Thanks in advance Phillip North
