So far this year 294 bird species have been reported on this list-serve.
This represents 70 percent of the Ohio Checklist (2004).

By month the number of species reported is as follows (I took liberty to
do some editing):
Jan: 137
Feb: 134 (9 new species)
Mar: 168 (32 new species)
Apr: 245 (82 new species)
May: 257 (34 new species)
New species are birds reported for the first time this year.

14 of the 294 are review species.
By month the number of review species is as follows:
Jan: 4
Feb: 3
Mar: 6
Apr: 11
May: 8

103 species have been seen in each of the first five months.

June, as of 8:50 PM, 151 species have been reported with zero new
species.

I am doing this list tracking for myself and it is not official. I do
not check the regional list serves for data in this report. I expect
that if I did the counts may be larger as many birders are very loyal to
their local list serve and not all birds get reported to this list. The
loyalty is commendable as it shows strong support for those clubs.
