Hi all,

You know 'em and love 'em - the Bobolink is one of the coolest birds that
breeds in Ohio. Like many of our grassland nesters, they have their
problems, though. On June 16, Greater Mohican Audubon Society is sponsoring
a Bobolink Day, which should not only be fun, but informative. As you may
know, Bobolinks are global wanders, wintering primarily in Argentina and
Brazil, making them amongst our longest-distance migrants to return and nest
in Ohio. It's a shame when colonies that breed in our grasslands and meadows
get mowed down in the height of nesting season, and that's one of the goals
of the day - to educate and increase awareness.

For registration details and more conference info, visit GMAS's website at:
http://www.gmasohio.org/bobolinks.html or my blog at:

Hope to see you there!

Jim McCormac
