We have had a pair of House Finch visiting.
Rather than feeding on the sugar water,
they were eating the ants that were trying
to find their way to the sweet nectar. We
have thwarted the ants by placing the bottom
of a plastic cup on the string above the feeder
and putting water in it.
Also yesterday on the Towpath Trail a singing
male Indigo Bunting flew in front of my bike
and landed over my head. Beautiful!
