I've been putting out peanuts for the local Blue Jays
and they disappear quickly. Now I know why. I
watched as one Blue Jay took every peanut, one at a
time, and quickly buried them in the middle of my
backyard (no small task since we've had no rain). I
didn't see him eat even one. Either he's very clever
to keep them all for a later meal, or he's very dumb
since we have quite a few squirrels in the area who
could surely find them in the ground.
