Last evening (7/16 at 8 PM) we saw 9 great egrets roosting at the far
end of Blue Wing Pond in Pickerington Ponds. They were unmistakable,
since they were mixed in with 5 great blue herons and you could see
that they were only a few inches smaller. We also saw an immature
Cooper's Hawk, many kildeer and a scattering of solitary sandpiper.
Across the road the osprey parents were tending to their fledgling,
who we were informed is now flying. Happy viewing.
