the 24th.

Whimbrel: On the 24th Craig Holt had two fly-bys at Conneaut, Ashtabula
County, and another bird at West Branch State Park, Portage County.

Red Knot: Charlie Bombaci found one at Area N of the Hoover Reservoir
Nature Preserve, Delaware County, on the 23rd.

Western Sandpiper: Included among the diverse shorebirds found at the
northeastern shore of Hoover Reservoir Nature Preserve, Delaware
County, on the 27rd by Charlie Bombaci and Jim Fry.

Baird's Sandpiper: Laura Dornan spotted one at Conneaut, Ashtabula
County, on the 23rd.

Seasonal Highlights: Shorebird season is upon us, and increased numbers
of yellow warblers herald the coming of the fall warbler migration.
Lark sparrows and blue grosbeaks, two species with restricted Ohio
ranges, are being found more widely distributed than previously
suspected.
