A good friend of mine is a janitor at Unioto High School, here in Ross County. While on the roof Friday afternoon, he found a Common Nighthawk on the nest! We went to see it yesterday..there must be two nests, as it had 3-eggs(on Friday), could not re-find, but we found a nest with 1, in different area of roof. This roof is the old gravel on the rubber roof type..I had never seen a nest before, and it's the best cameo job I've seen yet!

The parents flew around in protest, so we did not stay long..we did take some digital pic's, and will try to post them on the other site. I put in my cell phone for scale, hope I can send them ok.

Peterjohn says Aug. 19th or so for late fledge date on this bird..so it is not to late, but getting there since they have not hatched yet.

For the B.B.Atlas last time, looks like a confirm was not an easy task..so I put in in the quad also..78- B1- NE .
