This is the Ohio Rare Bird Report for July 6, 2007.

Mississippi Kite: The bird(s) at the Brass Ring Golf Course, Logan,
were seen by multiple observers this week. The most recent report was
from the 4th.

King Rail: Jane Dessecker successfully chased the bird in the marshy
area west of the boat ramp at Turkeyfoot Lake State Park, Summit
County, on the 29th.

American Advocet: An anonymous poster to Rarebird.org reported one from
Old Woman Creek Reserve, Erie County, on the 28th.

Upland Sandpiper: Rick Counts reported two nesting near the Wyandot-
Hardin county line on the 5th.

Eurasian Collared-Dove: West Manchester, Preble County, is now the
birder's destination of choice for this Ohio rarity. Terry Sonseller
found them there on the 29th, John Habig on the 30th, and Laura Dornan
on the 2nd.

Bell's Vireo: Bob Royse confirmed nesting of a pair at Deer Creek
Wildlife Area on the 3rd.

Western Meadowlark: Rick Nirschl found one singing on the 1st in
Williams County (Delorme p. 24: C2). His directions: just south of Lake
Seneca on Road P.50, 1/2 mile east of Road 8. It was in the field just
west of a white house with white garage and red barn at 08594 P.50.
