Best shorebirds at Conneaut today were western sandpiper, 2 black-bellied plovers, and 6 sanderlings.  I was told by another birder that 2 whimbrels were there last Sunday evening.  The combination of wind and rainfall has raised L. Erie's level enough to refill the nice pool at the east end of the spit.  Also the far west corner by the little breakwall has better habitat than usual.    Later, Craig
