Members of the Scioto Valley Bird and Nature Club did a second round of block busting this morning. The club owns a block at Paint Creek-77 B-5 SE. Totals for the day are around 48 species...this seems low at first, but a lot of birds are out of "safe dates" now for observations only. I think this brings the quad total to around 80 birds...we will finish it next year.

We did move some birds to T 7, also got confirmed codes for several more, and picked up some new birds for the quad. As Aaron pointed out in earlier posts..lots of young birds around..and the parents must feed them! So, CF(carrying food) can be an easy code for confirming breeders now.

Best birds for us were..Sedge Wren(1),Henslow Sparrow(2 or 3), and a Bobwhite(1), just off Blazer Road(New Petersburg area) in two nice hayfields split by a private? dirt lane.

Also found were Prairie Warbler(still singing). And a pair of Coopers Hawk, that were very, very vocal and upset..they made several high speed flybys thru the red pines..after some searching, we found the nest!

Just another great day of birding!
