Yesterday between 9:00 and 10:00AM, I saw two flocks of dc-cormorants (flyovers), the first, about 50 birds, in eastern Allen Co. and the second, about 20 birds, in western Crawford Co. (over SR 30), both heading south.
When I got back home, around 9:30pm, I heard a screech owl - just the trill, no whinny - in the woodlot behind our house. We've had a screech owl calling in those woods each of the last two years. I wonder if it's the same one and if it stays through the winter or just passes through?
