Saturday, Aug. 4 - 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Great egret
Solitary sandpiper - 3
Pectoral sandpiper - 8
Lesser yellowlegs - 12
Least sandpiper - 6
Semipalmated sandpiper - 4
Spotted sandpiper - 2
Great blue heron
Rock pigeon (banded) on the mudflats
Ring-billed gull
Barn, tree, and rough-winged swallows
Chimney swifts
Wood ducks
Mallards
Canada geese

Mudflats on the main pond are looking good--could use a little more rain.
Birds are coming into the "shoreline" much closer the last two days.

Two new sightings happened for us this past week. We had a hummingbird
taking a dust bath in our backyard and watched a willow flycatcher feed a young
song sparrow at the North Park on Old Springfield Rd. What interesting
surprises you can find while birding!
