I hit several of the better spots at ALum Lake State Park this morning, hoping to catch some early migrants.  Shorebirds were obliging where mudflats were available (Hogback Road), but landbird migration is still scarce here despite spending time at 2 good concentration points (Alum Point, New Galena Boat launch).  Highlights included:

Herons & Egrets - mostly at northern end at Hogback Road, where 10 Great Blues & 9 Great Egrets were sharing the expansive mudflats

Waterfowl - 180+ Canada Geese at Hogback were joined by a cormorant and 4 Blue-winged Teal

Shorebirds - the swarm at Hogback Road mudflats included Kildeer (120+), Gr. Yellowlegs (2), Lesser Yellowlegs (40+), Solitary Spr (5), Spotted Spr (3), Least Spr (4), Semipalm. Spr (2), Pectoral Spr

Raptors - an adult Bald Eagle was perched at New Galena, while Osprey were at ALum Point (1) and Hogback Road (2 ad, 2 juv)

Flycatchers - little of note other than a few E.Kingbirds at Alum Point.

Swallows - small flocks of Barn Swallows in many areas, and single soaring Purple Martins at both Alum Point and New Galena.

Vireos - just starting to move, with 3 White-eyed at ALum Point and another 3 at New Galena, along with single Yellow-throateds at both locations.

Mimids - good #s of Gray Catbirds at both Alum Point & New Galena; a lone Brown Thrasher was hidden amongst this horde at New Galena

Warblers - nothing other than a migrant Yellow at New Galena

Baltimore Oriole - 1 female was still lingering at New Galena, but none were at ALum Point (where there are usually a few).
