This morning I checked activity on the mudflats at several areas at the
north end of Hoover Reservoir. While there I ran into Paul Gardner, Jeff
Grabmeir, Bob McNulty, Marcie Howden and several other birders. Activity was constant
and moderate in all areas. The best is yet to arrive. The listing that
follows is a composite of my sightings and those of the others I spoke to. The
areas include Wiese Road, Area M off the boardwalk, the east shore from the
Eastshore Yacht Club north to Area N, and Oxbow Road.

Birds of interest:
Double-crested Cormorant
Great Egret
Green Heron
Little Blue Heron (seen at both Wiese Road and the boardwalk)
Osprey
Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Solitary Sandpiper
Spotted Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Stilt Sandpiper
Short-billed Dowitcher
Caspian Tern
Yellow-billed Cuckoo

The Willet wasn't located this morning, although it may still be around.
