Hi there everyone,

I have also had some interesting butterfly sightings interspersed around
our main focus of interest: birds

Lately I have witnessed the hummingbirds in migration, especially from
about Dublin,Ohio to Marysville along Rt. 33. This has been accompanied
by countless monarch butterflies in their migration as well.

One of the high points as far as butterfly watching is concerned, has been
a good number of sightings of Giant Swallowtails here in the central Ohio
counties, especially in the rural areas . On one fairly disappointing
birding expedition at Homestead Park in Hilliard recently, the number of
butterfly species was also disappointing until the last few minutes of my
trek when I saw a mature Giant Swallowtail flying fairly quickly over a
waist-high weedy, prairie-like area to make my day worthwhile..
