We've had 3 hummingbird feeders up for a few weeks and at least 1 up for most of the summer. Until yesterday, we would have one bird, two at most at each feeder at any one time. Yesterday, right after a couple of short heavy rain showers around 6pm I counted over a dozen at our main feeder, and at least 3 or 4 at the other two, all feeding or fighting over access at the same time! All are ruby throats and most appear to be immatures or females. I am guessing that a front brought in a bunch of new birds. Either that or hummingbirds have started reproducing by binary fission! :)
